Maintenance for your living roofs and living walls
In March 2020 we launched the Green Dr Service, offering living roof and living wall maintenance to our customers far and wide.
All living roofs and living walls need maintenance and our team of experts are trained to both maintain and rescue your living walls and green roofs with insightful horticultural care and remedial works to restore neglected installations to their full glory!
The Green Doctor Service, encompassing three specialist services: the Green Wall Doctor, the Green Roof Doctor and the Roof Garden Doctor.
If you have a living wall or a living roof which has seen better days, and needs to be restored for the months and seasons ahead get in touch. We work with all systems and have great experience with both interior and exterior living walls.
How to book a Green Doctor consultation
Booking the Green Doctor:
- Email P&P marking it FAO the Green Doctor.
- Briefly describe your living roof, wall, roof garden, i.e. age, size, height, aspect, and the apparent issue, including problems with plants, weeds, irrigation, drainage or leaks.
- Send a maximum of three photos.
- P&P’s Green Doctor team will give you a free consultation, initially, by email and phone.
- We will take you through a guided self-assessment to help isolate the problem.
- Where necessary, our Green Doctors will follow-up with an on-site visit.
- We can survey inaccessible roofs and walls using our ‘Flying Green Doctor’ drone.
- The Green doctors will then give you a free diagnosis and prescribe the remedy.
Weeds taking over?
Living Roof Maintenance
Even on the 15th floor in the City of London it doesn’t take long for the weeds to take over.
When your green roof / roof garden starts to look off-colour, either because the weeds are taking over or the plants are dying off, call in P&P’s Living Roof Doctor for a diagnosis.
The Roof Doctor will assess if the roof simply needs some love from the P&P maintenance team or if the problems are more ‘deep rooted’, perhaps relating to the installation, substrate or planting.

Green wall not so green anymore?
Living Wall Maintenance
Without regular maintenance green walls quickly start to look unhealthy.
P&P’s Living Wall Doctor will quickly assess if your wall is suffering from issues related to irrigation, feeding, drainage, exposure or shade or if there are problems relating to the installation, substrate or planting.
Often the doctor will just prescribe some cutting back, plant replacement and fertilising from the P&P maintenance team.
Biosolar roof no longer catching any rays?
Biosolar Roof Maintenance
The P&P’s Roof Doctor was recently called out to a biosolar roof that was no longer generating electricity.
The photo showed what he found. Buddleia and some young saplings had taken root.
The diagnosis was better than it looked. The roots hadn’t penetrated the waterproofing / roof membrane. All it needed was a careful weed and a regular maintenance check thereafter.
