Living Wall Installation
Pritchard & Pritchard have installed this fantastic 10m x 2.5m square Fytotextile green wall at City University, on behalf of Scotscape Smartscape.
Installed prior to planting with integrated irrigation ‘Fytotexile’ is excellent for plant health, given this patented fabric’s aerated structure, which delivers oxygen to the root system ensuring robust and strong plants.
Irrigation is integrated at the top of each 1m section and drip feeds water and nutrients into the Fytotextile twice daily. This is adjusted dependant on the season. Installations such as this one are at a scale which can be sufficiently irrigated from a tap timer with 5 bar water pressure.

Living Wall planting
Planted with a mix of Erigeron, pachysandra, gaura, carex, euonymous, convolvulus, solariolia, lirope, and sedum, this green wall will deliver both a visually appealing ‘wave’ aesthetic and bring a boost to biodiversity and localised air quality.
Incorporating correct plants in vertical gardens to ensure lasting success is as important as great maintenance. Plants are selected to thrive in the location of the project. Shade, semi-shade and even drought tolerant plant choices should be made to ensure a healthy and full wall for year round vibrancy.

Living Wall Completion
Plants will develop rapidly over the next few weeks, which will define the planting design and cover any visibility of the living wall system in place.
A vibrant addition to an otherwise grey courtyard.
We are system ‘agnostic’ and work with all green wall systems across the UK. Our exceptional team will deliver excellent installation and maintenance services and have excellent knowledge of all options.
