Hanging wall – installation
The hanging wall, Brighton, 2019
- The hanging wall is intended to gradually green up the new shade screen for a commercial development in Brighton.
- Pritchard & Prichard planted the 50 ‘climbing’ plants, including Virginia creeper and different species of ivy, in 25 planters on the seventh floor, 25m up.
- Gravity will encourage the plants to grow downwards and gradually spread across the façade.
- The plants are fed by an irrigation system from a supply on the roof.
- The project was completed in 2019.
