The Green Roof Organisation (GRO) is an independent not-for-profit Trade Association representing the UK Green, Blue and Bio-Solar Roofing industries.
GRO develops guidance documents and generally promotes the adoption of Green/Blue/BioSolar roofing technologies within the built environments.
GRO represents all elements of the UK Green, Blue and BioSolar Roofing industries including manufacturers of waterproofing systems, suppliers of Green/Blue/Bio Solar systems and components, specialist contractors from the roofing and landscape sectors) and associates including other trade associations, NGO’s, insurance companies, academia, ecologists, designers and architects.
As members of GRO we participate in leading technical guidance on best practice for the installation of green roofs for both commercial and residential clients. This is a benchmark accreditation to reassure our clients of excellent practice and installations for green roofs of all types that deliver on their promise.

International Green Wall Day on February 15th 2025 celebrates and highlights the beauty and environmental benefits of living walls, green facades, vertical gardens and vertical forests. The date marks the anniversary of the birth of the living wall inventor and visionary landscape architect Stanley Hart White in 1891.
