A year on from the installation of the 894sqm biosolar roof (an integrated green roof with Photovoltaic (PV) / solar panels) at the new-build Compass School in Essex, UK, the P&P maintenance crew were amazed to find so many native wildflowers all in bloom.

But there is one system we have found ourselves working with more and more: Fytotextile Living Wall developed by Terapia Urbana with the University of Seville.
This is a biosolar roof that Pritchard & Pritchard have been asked to help bring back under control.
And it raises an important issue for anyone specifying PV alongside a green roof.
A PV mounting system designed for a conventional flat roof should not simply be placed within a green roof and expected to perform as a biosolar system.
The two technologies need to be designed together.
